SEND THE RAIN

“A tender, therapeutic portrait of intergenerational healing … [that] will leave you wanting to reach out to the people you love.”

Kavan Dhillon, The Richmond Reviewer

SEND THE RAIN  follows Erika, an Okinawan-Canadian woman as she tries to save her grandmother, Oba, from the flames that threaten to engulf their family farm. Erika is convinced that Oba would be safer with her in the city. Oba is convinced that Erika needs the farm. Both stubborn and unyielding, the two fight for each other's survival in a world ready to engulf them in flames. Through their time on the farm Erika learns her grandmother's story both in this land and her homelands of Okinawa, allowing her to see her grandmother fully for the first time. With the fires coming ever closer, Oba and Erika must resolve their differences to survive. This forces them both to grow, change and see what they have both been missing: each other.
